Jacksonville Knights Win
The Jacksonville Knights are a Minor League Football team and a member of the Florida Football Alliance
(FFA). The Knights were founded by Jeremy McDonald and operate as a
non-profit corporation. They begin play in the FFA's 2010 season
residing in the NFC North.
The Jacksonville Knights are led by Head
Coach Anthony Galloway. Based in Jacksonville, Florida, the Knights
play their home games at Hodges Stadium on the campus of UNF.
The mission of the Jacksonville Knights is to develop players to pursue
careers in the professional ranks, while also teaching the values of
Honor, Courage, Respect, and Loyalty.
Jacksonville's brand new minor league football team, the Jacksonville Knights, battled it out with the Glynn County, GA, Revolution in the North America Bowl Saturday, Dec. 19, at 3 p.m. at UNF Hodges Stadium.
The Revolution kicked off and Paul “Action” Jackson returned the opening kickoff 93 yards for the game’s lone score. Both teams battled all the way with the Revolution scoring a touchdown which was called back due to a penalty.
Both teams fought throughout the game, several times turning the ball over due to downs. Derrick Nettles lead the Knights’ rushing with 98 yards on only 16 carries. Game MVP Shane Sanderson had 4 QB sacks while leading the defense.
There were a number of incomplete passes with several interceptions. Neither team attempted a field goal.
The Lady Knights provided entertainment, boosting everyone’s spirits throughout the game as well as during the halftime.
The next home game against the Wildcats is scheduled for Saturday, January 30, at 3:30 pm.
