Jordan Lockhart, Brunswick, GA, is Callahan Speedway’s Driver of the Week for February 28. Graduating from the NASCAR Technical Institute, Mooresville, NC, in 2009, he studied to be a NASCAR mechanic. He had previously graduated from Emmanuel Christian School in Brunswick, GA.
He returned to Brunswick to race Dirt Late Models and also races Box Stock Go-Karts. He began racing when he was 7 and now races all over Florida, Georgia, Alabama and North Carolina (so far). He prefers really fast high bank tracks.
While he does have his own Go-Kart, #7, and a race car number, #16, Jordan also sometimes substitutes for another driver. His parents, Michelle and Jay Lockhart, also live in Brunswick, GA.
February 20
Driver of the Week
Trey Pearson, who drives Purple Box Stock Class #44, is the Callahan Speedway Driver of
the Week for February 20. Eleven years old, Trey has been racing
Go-Karts since April 2009. He and his brother, Bradley Kight, who
drives #7, are continuing a tradition begun by their grandfather, Earl
Pearson, Sr. He drove stockcars at the Jacksonville Raceway.
Both Trey and his brother won their respective races Saturday night.
Their father, Earl, Jr., started driving Go-Karts when he was eight
years old. He’s now 38 and travels all over the U.S. racing super dirt
late models for NASCAR racer Bobby Labonte.
He’s able to bring the boys to their races some weekends but his family
often accompanies him. Earl, Sr., brings the boys to races when Earl,
Jr., is not available.
The Box Stock Purple class requires a total of 265 pounds so five pound
lead weights must be used to bring the car and driver to the proper
weight.
Trey, in the sixth grade at Hilliard Middle Senior High School, also
plays basketball with a YMCA team from Hilliard, FL. Bradley, 16 years
old, is in the 11th Grade at Hilliard MSHS. Their mother is Missy
Pearson.
