September 17 Driver of the Week

Michael Smith, #90, is the Callahan Speedway Driver of the Week for September 17.  He has been racing Go Karts for the past eight years.  Twenty two years old, Michael lives in Baldwin, FL.  He drives a 2011 Prowler in all Adult classes. Among his sponsors aree Radical Racing Engines (Joe Nolan, TJ Newton and Paul Beech), his parents (Melvin and Kathy Smith), Gaskins Racing, Birdsley Racing Concepts and Speedway Food Store.  Charlie Birdsley of Birdsley Racing Concepts is on the right of the photograph below.

September 24 Driver of the Week

Seven year old Katie Green is the Callahan Speedway Driver of the Week for September 24, 2011.  Racing for the past two years, Katie drives #3, a Silver Plate.  She lives with her parents Kathy and Brian Green in Callahan where she attends the Callahan Elementary School in the second grade.  She chose #3 because of Dale Earnhardt, Sr., a celebrated NASCAR driver.
