December 10 Driver of the WeekJimmy Nettles, Callahan Speedway's Driver of the Week for this week, kept his high school number of 13 for his racing career. He raced go karts during the 1980's and 1990's and went to minicup on asphalt. Jimmy began racing go karts again about six months ago between his once a month minicup racing. He drives a Box Stock Super Heavy kart at 400 pounds and has a Slack Axiom engine. Jimmy lives in Yulee and has been with the Nassau County Sheriff's Office for 11 years.
December 17 Driver of the Week
Troy Barber, 15, is the Callahan Speedway Driver of the Week for December 17, 2011. He's been racing for about a year and drives a Box Stock Light (225 pounds) as Number 8. This is his lucky number. His kart is a Nemesis with a Hicken engine. His parents are Torsten and Cherry Barber. Troy attends West Nassau High School in the ninth grade.
